Unlike cats, dogs are omnivores and apples can make for a healthy treat. Although dogs can eat apples, apples cannot be consumed in their entitrety as the seeds of the core contain chemical compounds such as arsenic, that are poisonous to dogs and other animals.
Dogs should also be kept away from rotting/fermenting apples to avoid ethanol poisoning.
